Could not find bulgur to make Lamb and Bulgur Meatloaf, but successfully substituted steel cut oats. Had stashed a measure of allspice and cinnamon in the selection of spice mixes so no vacation time wasted tracking down those ingredients, and used a disposable tray to save on washing up. Kept a quarter teaspoon of spice mix aside for Pearl Barley Tabbouleh. Finished the dish under the grill for a few minutes – watching carefully – to give the top of the meatloaf a crispy crust.
