Cold porridge is a Scottish tradition but prefer something a little less spartan for breakfast, such as Bircher muesli or Jamie’s pukkolla. Made a batch of oats to fuel swimmers for a day in the surf using a combination of ingredients from pukkolla and vanilla-almond breakfast bowl: combine 4 mugs of oats with 1 mug coconut flakes and a quarter of a mug of chia seeds in a large bowl. Stir in 320g Greek-style yogurt with honey and a litre of almond milk. Cover and leave to soften overnight in the refrigerator. Scoop into serving bowls the following morning and serve topped with berries, sliced banana, and flaked almonds.
